A DAD has left an angry message for his friends with kids on social media, slamming them for excluding his autistic son from parties and get-togethers.
The message, which was shared on Twitter by the blogger behind Life of Reilly, has struck a chord around the world.
“My husbands [sic] message to his mates breaks my heart,” Christine Stephenson wrote.
Her husband, Shane, posted the message after seeing a friend post about their child’s party — a party Reilly had not been invited to, according to Scary Mommy.
“Right this has been brewing for some time so here it goes and you can like it or f**king well lump it,” Shane wrote.
“My son Reilly has autism not f**king leprosy; he is 6 years old and my so-called friends with kids also have kids [sic] parties. Not ONE invite not f**king one. Think about that whilst you go and f**k yourselves; have you any idea how hurtful that is?
“Just for the record in future don’t bother he’s not an after thought he’s my every f**king thought.”
Christine told the Huffington Post that the family has no childcare and often feels very isolated.
“Inclusion is a big problem for autistic people. Reilly may not speak but he listens and he understands — as he grows I fear for the affects [sic] this may have on his mental health, as it does for so many others.
“Every message I have received has the same words. This happened to my son/daughter/granddaughter/grandson too, my child was the only one not invited.
“I would say to other parents in the same position: yes, it’s upsetting — no one wants to think of their child as the child that’s not invited — but find your own pack. Those who truly understand and run with them.”
According to Scary Mommy, a few of Shane’s mates have since gotten in touch to apologise. But, that’s nothing compared to the outpouring of support the family has experienced since Christine posted the message on Twitter two days ago.

Let them go & know that your boy will find kids who get him & enjoy his company. Takes a while but it happens.

My son, Bailey, turns 5 in May. Weâre in Richmond, London but Reilly is more than welcome to come to his party. â¤ï¸
