A flight attendant asked me to give up my first-class seat for a teenager

"They wanted me to give up my 1A seat so they could sit with their family, but if I paid extra for comfort, hell no," the woman wrote of the flight attendant's request.

A woman has ignited yet another internet debate about plane etiquette after she shared that a flight attendant asked her to give up her 1A seat for a teenager.

The TikToker, Dr. Sabra Zaraa, said that the teen wanted to sit with her family but she was unwilling to move for them.

In the clip that's now been viewed over five million times, the doctor shared a short six-second clip of herself sitting in the coveted seat.

"I am not a terrible human being"

"POV: Flight agent asks me if I want to give up my 1A seat so a child sits with their family," she wrote in a text-overlay.

1A is the best first-class seat on the plane as it's the first seat in the first row of a plane. It's typically a window seat and has plenty of legroom.

It also features a pod design like most modern first-class seats and reclines to form a horizontal bed.

While there's no seat directly next to 1A, there are two across the aisle which the teen's parents were sitting in.

In her caption underneath the clip, Dr. Zaraa wrote that she declined to give up the highly-sought after seat to accommodate the family.

It read: "That’s a no from me dawg. Would you have given up your seat? Also, they ended up finding a solution so no, I am not a terrible human being. Also, the child was like 13."

A viral audio plays over the clip that says, "Girl, f**k your kids, and f**k you too," which is often used by people in situations where they're asked to make sacrifices for other people's kids.

"The attendant should be ashamed"

People naturally had a lot to say on the matter.

One user passively aggressively wrote, "I gave up that seat so a newlywed couple could sit together. Kindness is free."

"Nobody said what she’s doing isn’t kind. She planned properly and they didn’t – so it’s not her responsibility to move," someone else defended.

And another person siding with Dr. Zaraa wrote: "If they wanted to sit together should’ve booked it that way!”

Then this commenter pointed out, "Why isn’t their first instinct to just switch the child with one of her parents so they could be with a guardian… LMAO."

"If they want to switch seats in economy, I would consider it. But if I paid extra for comfort, hell no! The attendant should be ashamed to even try," concluded a different comment.
