‘OMG need!’: Aldi releases two dupes of cult $500 kitchen item

Shoppers are gearing up for a frenzy over two limited-edition products set to go on sale at Aldi, that some say is similar to an expensive rival.

Aldi has surprised shoppers with its latest Special Buys promotion after unveiling it is coming to the party with two of the year’s most-wanted appliances.

The budget supermarket has revealed what will be heading to its middle aisle for its Black Wednesday offering.

Among the top picks include an inflatable movie screen, and an electric golf trolley.

But, despite not yet hitting shelves, shoppers have made it extremely clear what they plan to be buying first.

Aldi’s limited-edition Ice Cream and Frozen Treat Maker, retailing for $179, and a Slushie Maker 2L, retailing for $199 are seemingly top of the list, with Aussies comparing the appliances to that of a rival that costs much more.

“This year’s Black Friday line-up at Aldi is cooler than ever, with our new Ice Cream and Frozen Treat Maker ($179) and 2L Slushie Maker ($199) arriving just in time for Aussies to whip up refreshing drinks and delicious treats as summer heats up!” a spokesperson told news.com.au.

“Best of all, they’re just a sweet taste of all the incredible deals with great value that’s to come.”

Popular TikTok foodie, Nectoriouspapi, was first to get to the news, sharing a screenshot from the Aldi website with followers.

Oh So Busy Mum then posted as well, expressing her excitement for the launches.

“Get out! Aldi has a slushie machine and creami machine coming. Do you think this one will be as hard as the Kmart one to get?” she wrote in her post.

 

She was referring to Kmart’s $179 Slushie Maker, which sold out almost immediately when it was released at the beginning of last month.

Shoppers were so desperate to get their hands on the buy, given the comparisons to the $500 Ninja Slushie, that they were calling stores across the country to find out where it was in stock.

It is still currently out of stock online.

Commenters on the post couldn’t have been more excited to hear about the Aldi alternative.

“OMG need the ice cream!” one person said.

“Aldi always pulls through,” another agreed.

But, many were concerned that the demand will make it impossible for shoppers to get their hands on it.

“Most stores will get 3 each, if that, and a line up of 20 people outside stores before open time,” one person said.

“Imagine the lines …” another agreed.

“Considering the lines that I used to see for their Saturday sales, this will be gone in 10 mins,” said a third.

These two will be hitting the middle aisle on Wednesday, November 26. So, if you want one, you might want to set your alarm now.

“Shoppers can find the range in the middle aisle from Wednesday, 26 November but be quick, as they’re only available while stocks last!” the spokesperson said.
