Christmas shopping dreams are set to come true for a fortunate Melbourne family that will get the chance to sleep over in a custom built apartment in the Myer flagship Bourke Street store.
In a collaboration with Airbnb, the family will get the once-in-a-lifetime Christmas stay and experience at Myer Melbourne next Wednesday, which includes curated experiences, a plethora of gifts and styling opportunities and an exclusive guided tour of Myer’s renowned Christmas windows with a VIP Santaland experience.
The store’s styling suites will be transformed into a two bedroom family apartment, with amenities including a private chef and bathroom, ensuring guests have a comfortable space to get some in-store R&R in between hitting the shelves in the store all to themselves.
Melbourne mum Julia Cauchi got a sneak peek inside the luxury apartment with daughters Remy, 6, and Sloan, 2.
“I think it’s a really cool idea for a family to be able to go and do something so unique around Christmas time, especially after the year we’ve had,” she says.
Airbnb country manager Susan Wheeldon says the collaboration is part of a global campaign of money-can’t-buy experiences.
“Airbnb has become synonymous for incredible, once in a lifetime, money can’t buy stays and experiences. In the past we’ve listed everything from the Spice Girls Bus, to Downton Abbey, to a night at the Louvre and even Barbie’s Malibu dreamhouse,” she says.
“Given the special place the Myer Christmas windows holds in the hearts of not just Melburnians, but Australians more broadly, we feel this is a wonderful opportunity to treat a family to something really special, where they’ll be able to create memories to last a lifetime - and have serious shopping bragging rights for years to come.”
The stay costs $65 (plus fees and taxes) - to mark 65 years of Myer’s iconic Christmas window. The booking is open to a family of four - two adults and two kids. To secure the booking, you need to be over the age of 18 and have an airbnb account in your name with no history of negative reviews.
Bookings open at 12pm on Saturday via airbnb.com/myerchristmas.
