Mum's discovery about Bluey's parents has fans scratching their heads

One mum, bless her heart, has shared a mind-blowing discovery about Bandit and Chilli...

Talk about being late to the party. 

One mum, bless her heart, has just figured out what Bluey's folks, Bandit and Chilli, do for work!

While their jobs might be news for her, people have taken to the comments pointing out she's "a year or two late."

"How have I JUST learnt this?"

@thepeninsulamumma, also known as Maggie Chretien, asked her followers, "Did you know this about Bluey!?"

Drum roll, please...

"Did you know the Bandit is an archaeologist because he's a dog and likes to dig up bones and Chilli works at airport security because she sniffs things?"

She added in the caption, "How have I JUST learnt this?! 😅 It all makes sense!"

But people still wasted no time teasing the mum about this piece of trivia that's been doing the round for eons.

"🤦‍♀️" someone simply commented.

Another said, "Just a year or two late." Then this person said, "Oh boy."

"They’re dogs... did you know that? 😂" someone else joked.

People have some wild theories about Bandit and Chilli's 'real' jobs

But hey - who amongst us hasn't been that person who catches onto something, only to discover that everyone has moved on to the next thing?

For example, now that most people well and truly know what Bandit and Chilli's occupations are, people have begun to circulate some wild theories that (apparently) explain a lot about their lifestyles. 

According to one theory, which was first put forward by Zach Mander on TikTok and has since had many fans chatting on Reddit, Bluey's parents have set themselves up rather nicely considering the modest pay they would be on.

"So we have a couple where one has an intimate knowledge of how to bypass airport security and we have another who is regularly digging up rare and expensive items," he says in his clip.

"I don't want to slander a much-loved cartoon character but it seems to me that Bluey's parents could be up to some nefarious activities."

"They're part of a criminal enterprise"

And others online have been thinking hard about it ever since.

"Bluey's dad, Bandit, is an archaeologist and her mum, Chilli, works in airport security. The median pay for both those jobs in Australia is $67 000 AUD and $22 AUD/hour; no bank could justify a million dollar mortgage based on this income," one Redditor further explains.

They suggest that unless Bluey's family is independently wealthy, the biggest question is: "How can Bandit and Chilli afford such a nice property so close to the city centre?"

That's where the sinister theory comes in.

"The answer is that they are part of an international historical artefact smuggling ring. Bandit, as an archaeologist, has the ability to obtain rare and valuable archaeological finds, while Chilli, an expert in airport security, has the means to ensure that those finds make it past Australia's infamously strict border security," they claim.

"Thus, the answer to how they are able to afford such a nice house so close to the city is that they can't. The house is a proceed from a criminal enterprise."
