Mummy Pig gives birth to third baby

She gave Kidspot the exclusive birth story and confirmed how they chose her 'classic' name. 

Mummy Pig has given birth to a baby girl, making Peppa a big sister once again.

The news was officially announced this morning, as baby Evie was welcomed into the world.

After announcing she was pregnant on Good Morning Britain in February, Mummy Pig has officially welcomed her baby girl into the world, turning their family of four into a family of five.

Again according to the same program, Mummy and Daddy Pig welcomed baby Evie at the high profile Lindo Wing in London - the maternity ward at St Mary's Hospital where Kate Middleton gave birth to all three of her children.

Now that the family has settled back in at home, the two said they can’t wait to see what’s in store for them with an extra little one in the mix.

“We’re getting there, aren’t we? It’s been a very busy few days, as you can imagine. So much going on – so many visitors, so much to sort out, and a whole third child to contend with! Oink!” Mummy Pig told Kidspot.

According to Mummy Pig, all went as planned, having been prepared days before the birth.

“We were all ready and prepared for days before. Daddy pig kept repacking the overnight bag, checking routes to the hospital, and running drills on how quickly we could get there,” Mummy Pig said.

“But we were very lucky – everything went smoothly and in 8, um, ‘short’ hours of labour Evie was here!”

After tossing up a few options, Evie was ultimately named after Mummy Pig’s great aunt Evie.

Peppa’s a big sister… again!

As far as Evie's older siblings, Peppa and George, go, the two said everything is running smoothly so far - despite having three children under five.

“Peppa has really taken to her role as ‘Even Bigger Sister’ now, though, which is lovely. She can’t wait to help Evie AND George learn and play together,” Mummy Pig said.

They even said she was excited to help around the house as Mummy Pig recovers.

“Birth takes time to recover from, and we want to make sure Mummy Pig gets as much rest as possible! Luckily, I’m not alone, and Peppa and George have insisted on helping me any way they can – or… Trying to help, rather. Oink! Sometimes ‘Helping’ looks a bit like ‘accidentally making a mess in the kitchen’,” said Daddy Pig.

Evie will be making her big screen debut from May 30 as part of the Peppa Meets the Baby cinema experience.
