One mum has called BS on the 'impressive lunchbox' sharing and parents are applauding her for her honesty.

We all like to see photos of other people's lunchboxes - especially their clever snack creations. But let's be truly honest with ourselves, more often than not, what we pack for the kids each day looks nothing like what we swoon over on the net.

Admit it. One mum has. In fact, she has called BS on the 'impressive lunchbox' sharing and has been hailed a hero for her honesty.

Aussie mum-of-two, Sarah, was sick of people posting snaps of their carefully curated lunch boxes filled with nothing but healthy snacks, so she decided to post her own photo.

In the shot was a simple sandwich covered in cling wrap, a pear, and a packet of Mammee rice snack sticks. Because... realistically, that's all kids want AND WILL eat!

Along with her snap, Sarah admitted that while she would love to sit and fuss over a healthy lunch box for her son, it simply won't get eaten.

"Yes, I would love to offer my child a smorgasbord of healthy goodies, but I have a fussy eater who prefers simple boring lunches, I pick my battles," she shared.

And picking those battles is something many parents could relate to because many of them came forward to applaud the mum for her honesty.

"My son will only have a Vegemite sandwich. There is nothing wrong with simple," another mum shared.

"Oh my god! Finally something relatable," another added.

Meanwhile, others were insisting the mum should not be ashamed of the lunchbox she packs for her boy.

"That is a healthier lunch than you are giving yourself credit for," one wrote.

How to keep sandwiches fresh... and prep them a week ahead!

If a sandwich is a regular ingredient in your child's lunchbox, consider making them a week in advance and save your sanity.

One mum swears by meal prepping ahead and promises that the sambo doesn't ever get soggy.

Kate took to Facebook to explain that she makes her sandwiches the day she buys the bread and then immediately freezes them.

“I'm one of those mums who freezes sandwiches because I'm time poor during the week and my kids only eat ‘boring sandwiches’ anyway,” she shared.

“They defrost super quick, so they just come out in the morning and go straight into the lunchbox. Unless I'm working and I do lunches the night before.”

Kate later explained that she bulk-made the sandwiches with various fillings including deli meats, cheese or vegemite.

Her post was quickly deemed “life-changing” by various parents who agreed her time-saving hack was genius.
