Model and influencer Amy Pejkovic has revealed she’s separated from former footy star David Zaharakis in a “mature break-up”.
Pejkovic, who was with the Essendon midfielder turned ironman for the past four years, said the couple made the decision together.
“We decided we’d be better as friends,’’ Pejkovic, 31, said.
“I’m proud of how we’ve handled it.
“We weren’t as compatible as we thought we were. I loved with all my heart and I have so much admiration for him and still love him. He’s also very excited to see what I do next year. That’s life.”
Pejkovic has now moved to Sydney with a fresh start for her modelling career and a keen interest in pursuing her F1 passion.
“It’s a new start and I’ll hit the ground running with work,’’ she said.
“I really want to push more into the F1 space and I might try and base myself in Europe and land a job over there. I’ll be down in Melbourne for the Australian Open and the Australian Grand Prix.
“It’s going to be a good 2025, I feel like I’m starting the new year with a new chapter and I just need to back myself.”
Zaharakis, 34, has found a new sporting passion over the past year, competing in ironman events across five Australian states and in the US. The 226 game Bomber, who appeared on Australian Survivor, completed the brutal Ironman 70.3 world championship on Sunday in New Zealand.
