I cannot recommend this place enough. It is by far the best retail bakery in Geelong. Whether you want to sit in and enjoy a coffee and croissant or take some bread or pastries home, they never disappoint. My favourite go-to here is the chicken sandwich they do at lunchtime.

I love everything they do. They use produce they grow as well as other items grown by locals they trade for with coffee. They are also working towards the goal of minimal waste, which is not easy to do and is an inspiration to the industry.

I couldn’t ask for a better local so close to my house. Not only do they do a great breakfast and were recently voted best coffee in Geelong, but we often find ourselves going in for the amazing Neapolitan-style woodfired pizzas.

Again you don’t get much more local than this with eggs, pork and vegetables all coming from the farm itself, with the added bonus of a large play area for the kids and pick-your-own berries in the summer.

It is easy to miss this place if you don’t know it is there. Everything from a cheeky treat for yourself if the kids aren’t around to tell on you (or share with) to birthday and wedding cakes.

SCOTCHMANS HILL

We love coming here and sitting outside with the kids who even have their own mini picnic table to sit at.

Enjoy great wines (my favourite is the Scotchmans Hill chardonnay) while looking at the vines and eating their Bellarine produce platter, which showcases Corinne and Peter Blacket’s award-winning goat’s cheese made just down the road.
