Most shopping centres in Melbourne are closed on Good Friday, unless otherwise stated. They will reopen over the long weekend.
Coles: Most stores are open on Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday
Woolworths: Open on Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday except Melbourne Central, Bourke St and Collins Square.
ALDI: Selected stores open on Good Friday and all stores will be open on Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
IGA: Most stores are open from 8am to 8pm on Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
Fresh Produce is open on Easter Saturday from 6am-3pm, Easter Sunday 9am-4pm and Easter Monday it is closed.
Specialty shopping is open on Easter Saturday from 8am-3pm, Easter Sunday from 9am-4pm and Easter Monday it is closed.
South Melbourne Market: Open on Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday from 8am-4pm.
Prahran Market: Open on Easter Saturday from 7am-5pm. Easter Sunday and Easter Monday is closed.
Preston Market: Open Easter Saturday from 8am-3pm. Easter Sunday and Easter Monday is closed.
Footscray Market: Open on Easter Saturday from 7am-5pm. Easter Sunday and Easter Monday is closed.
POST OFFICES
Australia Post has confirmed no post offices will be open on Good Friday or Easter Monday. No mail or parcel deliveries will take place either.

Most shopping centres are closed on Good Friday however they reopen over the long weekend.
Melbourne Central: Open on Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 10am-6pm.
Melbourne Emporium: Open on Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 10am-6pm.
Highpoint : Open regular hours on Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday. Open from 10am-5pm on Easter Monday.
Chadstone: Open 9am-9pm on Easter Saturday, 10am-7pm on Easter Sunday and 10am-6pm on Easter Monday.
Eastland: Open on Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 10am-5pm.
Northland: Open on regular hours for the entire weekend

Planned Works
Pakenham/Cranbourne/Frankston lines: Buses replace trains between Flinders Street and Westall/Moorabbin from April 19-22 due to Metro Tunnel works.
Sandringham line: Buses replace trains between Flinders street and Sandringham from April 19-22 due to Metro Tunnel works. Please note, trains will run on the Sandringham line between noon and 8pm on Easter Monday to get football crowds to and from Geelong v Hawthorn at the MCG.
Gippsland line: Coaches replacing all Gippsland trains for the entire journey until last service Tuesday 23 April due to upgrades ahead of the introduction of bigger, more reliable trains onto the network.
Geelong and Warrnambool: Coaches replacing all Geelong and Warrnambool trains for the entire journey until last service Sunday 21 April due to upgrade works.

Good Friday: Services running to a Sunday timetable. 11 extra services for AFL at MCG.
Easter Saturday: Normal Saturday services. 40 extra services for music festival at the Showgrounds and AFL games
