PACIFIC Werribee is set to become the fashion capital of the west when its $400 million landmark redevelopment is completed next week.

Bridging the fashion gap between Geelong and Melbourne, residents of the western suburbs will now have access to an impressive line-up of global fashion giants with Swedish megastore H & M and Japan retailer Uniqlo to be housed in the new mall alongside an expanded Myer, which will be three times its previous size and include UK chain Topshop.

An additional 40 retailers, including leading Australian labels such as Mecca Maxima, Seed Heritage, Sportsgirl, Peter Alexander, Decujba and Bardot will also join the centre while Geelong-based retailer Cotton On will launch a superstore spanning across almost 800 square metres.

Pacific Centres CEO, Graham Terry, says the redevelopment will offer residents of the growing inner-western suburbs a one-stop fashion, food and entertainment destination.

“All the new shopping centres have gone to the east but the growth in the west has been enormous and consumers have had limited access to retailers in that area,” Mr Terry said.

“Our new food court and restaurant precinct, Urban Diner, which opened last year has been trading well above our expectations and now locals no longer have to travel to Highpoint or Chadstone to find their favourite international and Australian brands. We are ecstatic to deliver them brand new stores.”

Stylist to the stars Lana Wilkinson says the refurbished centre will create a well-rounded offer that’s comparable to that of the Melbourne CBD.

“Finally, gone are the days where locals of the West will have to travel to the city for that premium fashion and beauty fix. As someone who still has family that live in the West, it’s particularly exciting to see an offering comparable to that of metro Melbourne.”

“There is absolutely something for everyone with an increased access to affordable fashion.”

TV personality Lauren Phillips has been appointed the Face of Pacific Werribee’s redevelopment and will be appearing at the centre on July 28 for the opening of the precinct.

Melbourne model Sacha Burns showcased some of the new retailer’s looks of the season at the Werribee Mansion Gardens this week.
