FINDING time to locate a baby-friendly cafe in Melbourne is the last thing on a first-time parentÂ’s mind when they are up to their elbows in dirty nappies.

And popping out for a bite to eat can be daunting when ready to show your little bundle of joy the outside world.

After all, a crying tantrum or poo explosion isn’t as big of a deal when you’re at home as in a cafe or restaurant full of eating patrons with no change table in sight.

DO YOU KNOW A GREAT CHILD-FRIENDLY CAFE? TELL US BELOW

Such concerns led Melbourne mum Jolie Morello to create Hey Bambini — a website guide to the best baby, toddler, child and family-friendly cafes and restaurants.

Ms Morello said her readers loved to find cafes that welcomed families.

“(Hey Bambini loves) high chairs, kids eats and of course the odd basket of toys or shelf of kid’s books,” Ms Morello said.

The website has afforded Ms Morello the opportunity to hear many parent dining experiences, good and bad.

“We’ve heard it all from screaming babies asked to leave, cold food and rude staff,” she said.

“But of course there are always the positive stories like bottles being warmed, emergency baby food being cooked up for bub’s and the understanding staff.”

So, where can you find such a place?

Below, as Ms Morello has told us her best baby-friendly places to dine in Melbourne. And, of course, breast feeding is welcome at all of them.
