Jesinta Franklin says she ‘no longer stands so much bulls--t’

Aussie model Jesinta Franklin says she is older and wiser after finding her sense of self, and she can “no longer stand so much bulls--t”. Now she has created a wellness app with “more depth than the pretty pictures” you see on social media.

Short And Sweet with Jesinta Franklin

Jesinta Franklin wants to get real.

The model and author has opened up on her new view on life in the latest issue of Australian Women’s Health magazine.

“My sense of self has gotten stronger, which a lot of people could say, ‘Oh, you’ve changed,’ but it’s just that I no longer stand so much bulls--t,” Franklin said.

Starting a family within the next two years is very much on the agenda for Franklin, 27, and her husband, Sydney Swans superstar Lance “Buddy” Franklin.

“(I’d) really love to start a family,” she said.

Wellness, both physically and mentally, is also a priority for the couple.

Franklin’s mother Valerie, was diagnosed with bowel cancer early last year, and Franklin discovered she also carried the cancer gene.

While her mother has been given the all clear, Franklin had her own health scare when polyps were recently discovered and removed during an annual check-up.

“If you remove the polyp then it can’t develop into cancer,” she said.

“[Getting checked is] the one thing I can proactively do every year that will stop me from getting [bowel cancer].

“That is why I’m really passionate about talking about it, because it is a preventable cancer if you do the right things and stay on top of it.”

Franklin’s new baby is her Wellness App, called Jesinta Franklin, where she shares workouts created by her personal trainer, Dan Adair, recipes, beauty tips and advice.

“I wanted to create a platform with a little bit more depth than the pretty pictures that you see on Instagram or Facebook,” Franklin said.

“A platform that I was fully in charge of.”
