Missed out on tickets to Elton John’s farewell tour in Australia? Well, you’re in luck. The music icon has added two more Victorian shows off the back of the success of his hit movie Rocketman.

Elton John has added more shows to his farewell Australian tour, which has already sold 500,000 tickets.

The superstar will play AAMI Park on Saturday February 22, which will also be the 50th show he has performed in Melbourne since his 1971 debut at Kooyong Stadium.

John will also play A Day On The Green show at Geelong’s Mt Duneed Estate on Saturday December 7.

Tickets go on sale June 25 at 9am, with presales starting June 18.

He will spend over three months in Australia playing 32 shows with the tour starting in Perth on November 30 and ending in Sydney on March 7.

His Australian promoter Michael Chugg said the tour could wind up selling over 700,000 tickets — the only tickets left for his existing Victorian concerts are for Hanging Rock on January 25.
He has sold out four Rod Laver Arena shows, one Hanging Rock, and three A Day On The Green shows — one in Rutherglen, two at the Yarra Valley.

As usual, John will base himself in Sydney and charter a private plane to each show.

“There’s a break over Christmas, I believe his family are coming out for a holiday,” Chugg said.

“The show is nearly three hours long, it’s a very emotional night.

“You’re going to hear the soundtrack of your life. He’s been so focused and determined to make this the best show he’s ever done, he won’t compromise on anything.”
