A MEATLESS degustation matched with “vegetarian-friendly” beer will leave Melbourne foodies green with envy.
A Collingwood beer hall will serve up a four-course feast it says finally fills a gap in the pub fare market.
Stomping Ground Brewing Co manager and certified cicerone Matt Marinich said vegetarians traditionally had less to choose from at their local.
“There is a gap in the market,’’ he said. “It’s hard for vegetarians when there are fewer options to choose from.’’
The brewery, in collaboration with catering group Me & Mabel, will host the feasting dinner Ground Me tonight. Mr Marinich and wife Wendy hope to eventually extend the concept for vegans.
All five paired beers will be “vegetarian and vegan-friendly’’, with no animal products used in the creation process.
Green brew, The Bad Seed, a Berliner Weisse with added syrup known as sweet Woodruff, will be among the options.
