Fashionable Francophiles can indulge in Eiffel Tower motifs, red and blue Riviera stripes, berets, Chanel inspired tweeds and even french bulldog prints for Bastille Day, as fashion’s enduring love affair with perennially chic French style of continues this season.

High street stores including Forever New, Cotton On and Country Road have all embraced the timeless trend, while bedding and homewares brand Linen House have incorporated a bold red, white and blue colour palette into their current collection and Bras N Things new Pardon my French collection features a fun ‘frenchie’ print.

Rachel Underwood, head of buying at Bras n Things said French-inspired fashion is a lasting trend because every girl dreams of visiting France.

“France evokes romantic notions; every girl can connect emotionally with France, whether it be sipping champagne in Paris, shopping at Champs Elysee or a cheeky weekend escape down to St Tropez, channelling Brigitte Bardot,” Ms Underwood says.

Sue Morris, Head of Design at Linen House said it’s the French culture translates well into fashion and homewares.

“Timeless style seems to come naturally to the French, along with an enviable work life balance, an appreciation of the good things in life such as food, art and love_ so of course France continues to inspire designs,” Ms Morris said.
