Matt Preston hints at overseas plans for 2020

From turning food scraps into delicious desserts to fruit into bacon, Matt Preston has lots in store for 2020, including some exciting overseas news that fans have been waiting for.

Former MasterChef judge Matt Preston is poised to take his cravat global in a top-secret overseas project.

The much-loved food critic told the Sunday Herald Sun he had a few surprises in store for overseas fans next year.

It’s in addition to his new television gig on Channel 7 show Plate of Origin.

“Everyone is on holidays now but when I can talk about what comes next there are some very exciting things in the pipeline for 2020,’’ Preston said.

“We’ve got some really cool stuff overseas that we’re really excited about doing.”

The country involved in the Preston’s plans is yet to be revealed but the Stellar magazine columnist and his former MasterChef co-stars are hugely popular figure overseas, especially in India where millions watch the show each week.

Preston’s career moves came as he urged Aussies to think about unnecessary food waste.
Each houshould throws out an average $2200 in food a year.

Preston, in partnership with Public Libraries Victoria, Saturday shared tips on using food scraps that would otherwise go to landfill as part of a session at North Fitzroy Library.

Using mango scraps to make ice cream topping and banana peels to make a vegan altnerative to bacon were among waste-free recipes.

More No Waste Cook Club sessions will run next year.
