Who Lisa Wipfli Where I’m originally from Queensland but I now live in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Favourite thing My family and spending time with them. We love going on trips away together and making precious memories. Inspiration My home decor is influenced by the architecture I’ve seen on my holidays, such as the interior of hotels in Europe. Mike and I have developed a keen eye for home decor. Home is About creating a calm space for my family.
While her husband Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli is known for talking the talk on his radio show, it’s actually Lisa who really runs the show at home. The couple share three children Theodore, seven, Jack, six, and Francesca, two, and Lisa says family travels are high on the priority list.
Lisa, who is an Allianz spokeswoman, says planning ahead makes all the difference to a good family holiday experience. Aside from being properly insured (“I know from personal experience how stressful it can be to lose a high valued item when you’re on the road”), the seasoned traveller says the mundane task of organising items will save your sanity later.
“When it comes to travelling with high-value portables, pack them in separate compartments so you know where they are in your luggage, and keep your medical kits and supplements together in another part. This makes your valuables easy to find.” With Christmas holidays creeping up on us, Lisa advises parents to start making a list now and stick to it.
“While it can be tempting to throw in the odd item, make sure you stick to your list to avoid bringing more than you actually need on holiday.” And, of course … “Pack all dirty items in one suitcase. When you return home, it makes it so much simpler to unpack and not have to rummage through multiple bags to locate your valuables over the dirty items.”

This photo is so special to me. I was always super close to my grandparents and this photo is a nice reminder of the memories that I had with them as a child.
These are my favourite pair of shoes. I love taking these away with me and would be lost without them. They’re a staple pair of shoes for a nice lunch or dinner with the family.
I love this vase and matching sconces. They’re quirky, statement pieces in our home. I usually display the vase as a decorative piece and it makes a lovely finishing touch to any room.
This is one of my favourite things because Mike, the kids and I all have spent hours building this one together, it’s something that brings our family together and has many great memories associated with it.
This is a one-of-a-kind lamp. It’s so special as it was handmade by one of our
good friends who gave it to us as a wedding present, so it’ll always have a place
in our home.
Ted and Jack are still young, but I know in the future these moulds are going to be really sentimental to me. I’m going to have to get a mould of Francesca’s hands in the next few years so I can have one for her too.
Since childhood, Mike has been very musical. We both wanted to make sure the
kids also grew up with music in the house and have the opportunity to learn to
play.
One of my favourite overseas trips to Italy I wore this gorgeous dress on a very special day out with friends. Now, I take this dress with me on every holiday, even though I sometimes don’t end up wearing it.
