Melbourne Road Rage Incident

A woman has spoken out after an “unhinged” Macca’s-fuelled attack that left her in hospital with serious injuries.

On February 10, Katherine Humphries, 33, was waiting for food in a McDonald’s drive-through in Melbourne’s west when she noticed the customer in front of her yelling at staff members, police were told.

She told 9 News the man, in a Toyota C-HR wagon, had been yelling at them “for a couple of minutes” before she told him to “move on and leave her alone”.

Police were told both cars left the restaurant and Ms Humphries stopped her car on Gamon St.

“He was brake testing me and started following me,” Ms Humphries told 9 News.

“By the time we got to the corner of Mackay St and Gamon St, he did a U-turn and smashed into the front of the car.”

Police said Ms Humphries left her vehicle and approached the male driver of the Toyota before he suddenly drove forward and struck her with his vehicle.

Police say he then drove away on the wrong side of the road along Gamon St, leaving Ms Humphries screaming on the ground.

She was taken to hospital with a broken leg and said the pain was “horrific”.

“I can’t imagine being in the amount of pain ever again,” she said.

“This has impacted my whole life. It’s humiliating.”

Police are appealing for public assistance in identifying the driver of the Toyota, who is believed to be a caucasian male with a solid build and small black beard.

He was wearing a black T-shirt at the time of the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has further information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
