Whether you are keen to try Australia's most legendary laksa in Darwin, swim in heart-stopping water holes in Litchfield, go on a heli-foraging gin tour, see huge crocs in Kakadu or visit the spiritual heart of Australia in Uluru, this could be your chance. 

Jetstar today released $89 flights to the Northern Territory, making it the perfect time to book your Top End holiday for the upcoming Dry Season.

Running until midnight February 14, 2025, Jetstar’s ‘NT Sale’ includes fares to both Uluru and Darwin from Sydney, Melbourne (Tullamarine), Adelaide and Brisbane – all for less than $160.

The cheapest fare on offer is Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Uluru from $89. This is closely followed by Sydney to Uluru from $99, Brisbane to Darwin from $129, Adelaide to Darwin from $129, Sydney to Darwin from $151, and Melbourne to Darwin from $155.

Travel dates vary from March to December 2025, and some of them coincide with a host of world-class music, art and cultural events across the NT.

These range from the Territory’s biggest music festival, BASSINTHEGRASS, which will take place on Darwin’s iconic Mindil Beach on May 17 2025, to the Darwin Street Art Festival (May 24 - June 15 2025) and the Karrimanjbekkan An-me Kakadu/Taste of Kakadu (May 23-25, 2025).

In August, there's also Australia’s hottest winter arts festival, Darwin Festival, and the Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Awards. Sports enthusiasts, meanwhile, can check out the Betr Darwin Triple Crown (a supercar race) in June or the MXGP of Australia World Motocross Championships in September.

Further south, if you head down to the Red Centre, you can see breathtaking outback landscapes, go on wild driving adventures and experience more unique indigenous events and experiences.

These include Sunrise Journeys and Wintjiri Wiru sound and light spectacles, award-winning Aboriginal cultural tours around Uluru and Kata Tjuta (where you learn mind blowing things like the fact that there used to be a mountain range as big as the Himalayas in the Red Centre), heli-tours, camel rides, and gourmet outback dining under the stars.

Having been to Uluru last year, I recommend Tali Wiru for this. It's an outback dining experience where you enjoy flutes of champagne on arrival as well as platters of boujee bush tucker (think beef with cranberry on top, served on a tray full of stones, and mushroom quiche served on a bed of leaves).

You then watch the sun set in the Southern Desert sky, before doing a star gazing session (with wine), during which your guide explains how the Anangu people used the night sky to navigate.

At sunset, the french-kissing flies dissapear, and you can enjoy a dining experience you'll never forget...

There are also some incredible road trips: after arriving in Uluru, many travellers opt to take the iconic Red Centre Way drive route through Kings Canyon, Tjoritja / West MacDonnell National Park and Alice Springs.

Finally, there's the Red Centre Light Trail, which features highlights like Parrtjima – A Festival in Light in Alice Springs from April 4-13, and Bruce Munro's year-round Light Towers installation at Kings Canyon Resort.
