A billionaire has created a 'cult-like' wellness space in Melbourne that's charging members up to $2000 a week.
Anti-ageing and biohacking have been taken up a notch - and then some. The brainchild of real estate developer Tim Gurner, Saint Haven is a private wellness club that might just be the most innovative and impressive 'gym' Australia has seen.
Located in the Melbourne suburb of Collingwood, it's revolutionising the wellness space with Gurner saying their aim is for members “to live to 100 but not just live to 100 – but live to 100 feeling amazing.”

In a chat with Australian Financial Review, the 41-year-old, who’s worth close to $1 billion, won’t have any problem paying his membership, which starts from around $150 per week for a basic package, ranging up to around $2000 ($1000 is reportedly their mid-tier membership).
For that price, you have access to full-body MRIs, monthly bloody testing, a spiritual healer, trainers, cryotherapy, infrared saunas, IV drips, elixirs, a magnesium-laced pool, a vitamin-C shower, a meditation cave, and a breathing coach – and that’s just a few of the options at your disposal.
In essence, Gurner is helping Australia’s elite live longer, and given there are only a small number of memberships available – via a five-stage interview process – the average Joe’s chances of joining Saint Haven are slim. As the saying goes, health is wealth.
“It will be quite cult-like – the people who have joined are very serious about changing their life,” he admitted to AFR.
“I get about 250 different tests of my blood which will say, ‘this month you’re deficient in [vitamin] D, your testosterone is up or down’. Then the physios, dieticians, doctors on call set my regime,” Gurner said. “I take about 50 or 60 tablets a day. It’s always very specific to my latest results.”
Saint Haven sounds full-on, but perhaps Gurner’s onto something. While membership does come at a hefty price, it could be argued that the tailored care might save you a trip to healthcare providers outside the facility.
Gurner plans to expand the Saint Haven brand, and predicts another seven in Melbourne, eight in Sydney, and one in Brisbane, before going global.
With a muted, soothing colour palette, modern but inviting interiors, and mood lighting, just standing within the haven’s walls brings a sense of calm.
But there’s another way members can get their zen on, and it takes little to no effort.
“We have got some semi-hallucinogens, like an amazing drink made out of kava, it’s a natural drug,” Gurner said, adding that there are discussions underway with members around whether medicinal alcohol should be available, too.
So, would you throw more than $1000 per week at your health? Or better yet, do you have the time to utilise everything Saint Haven has to offer?
According to Gurner, here are just some of the club's offerings...

"Our coaches offer a holistic approach to your overall health and wellbeing with important consideration given to nutrition, sleep, recovery, mindfulness and training."
