If you had this in your fridge growing up, it meant you were rich

"It felt like grabbing gold."

Forget fancy — A fridge stocked with coke is the true flex!

A woman has sparked a nostalgic conversation about the real symbol of wealth that many Aussies secretly associated with being "rich" as kids.

And no, it's not going to a private school or having a fancy car — it's having soft drink cans in your fridge.

Yep. According to TikTok @Lozleeinfunee, having friends when she was younger who had a fully stocked fridge of soft drinks made her think they were well off.

Now, as an adult, she feels she's finally 'made it' as she has a crisper drawer packed to the brim with Diet Cokes.

"It felt like I was grabbing a can of gold"

"If you grew up poor, I'm going to show you something because you're going to appreciate how much of a flex this is," the 34-year-old said in the video, which has since racked up thousands of likes and comments.

She then pulls out her drawer of Coke cans and says, "Having Coke cans in your fridge... rich people, middle-class people, you won't understand, you're like... isn't that normal? No, it's not normal."

"When I was younger and would go to my rich or middle-class friend's houses, and they'd be like, 'yeah, just go grab a drink from the garage fridge or from our second friend or from our drinks fridge' and then I'd just open it up and be like 'OHH! What is this?! This is insane'.

"It felt like I was grabbing a can of gold.

"So having my own Coke cans in my fridge... it's just good to appreciate how far you've come and enjoy the win."

"The divide between the classes is real"

The video clearly struck a chord with other Aussies who chimed in with their own memories of this niche but clearly shared phenomenom.

"We'd only get soft drink cans at Christmas time," one said.

Another wrote: "We just got a two-litre bottle like once a fortnight, and it was always flat."

Then a third admitted: "I relate to this big time. I remember going to friends' places, and they had a garage fridge stocked with Coke... At that moment, I knew I was poor."

"Yeah we only had one flavour cordial, never any soft drink!" chimed in a fourth.

Someone else quipped, "The divide between the classes is real. 😬"
