Here’s how one Aussie woman took back control of her health after years of struggling with the physical and physiological difficulties of being dangerously overweight. 

Anyone who has embarked on a life-changing weight loss transformation is likely familiar with just how physically and emotionally gruelling the journey can be. 

With an influx of conflicting advice and seemingly unattainable goals flooding our social media feeds every day, finding the right way to go about losing weight and transforming our health can feel like a daunting and overwhelming task. Coupled with low levels of motivation sabotaging our efforts, it’s no surprise many people ditch healthy habits long before they can stick.

Life before her weight loss

For Bianca, the emotional and psychological toll of her weight struggles were just as concerning as how physical state, "My life before was lacking motivation, my weight was increasing, my energy and mood were low, and I would constantly feel depressed and anxious,” she shares.

In addition to her dwindling mental state, Bianca was becoming increasingly concerned with her high cholesterol and high blood pressure levels, early-onset arthritis, uncontrollable emotional eating and snoring. 

“There was a point where I was not seeing any changes within my mental and physical health which is when I was driven to make a change and see a difference."

My life before weight loss surgery was working full time. I did light exercise but would eat a lot from the high-pressure environment. I would eat out and would snack a lot. The weight gain was from stressful live events such as losing my dad.

Fuelled by a newfound sense of direction and determination, Bianca knew she would first need to address her lifestyle habits in order to foster healthy weight loss. Working full time and dealing with some intense personal loss, finding the time to exercise and alter her diet had proven difficult in the past for Bianca.  

“I did light exercise but would eat a lot from the high-pressure environment,” she explains. “I would eat out and would snack a lot. The weight gain was from stressful life events such as losing my dad.” 

After years of stunted progress and ineffective diet trends, Bianca decided to once and for all change her lifestyle, and turn her health around. 

Beginning her journey by overhauling her nutritional habits and incorporating light exercise into her routine, Bianca recalls feeling frustrated during the initial stages of her health transformation. 

“The first few weeks were challenging and I did not see any changes,” she says. “My mood and weight would both fluctuate.” 

Determined not to lose momentum, Bianca continued her efforts, enlisting the help of Lite n’ Easy to manage her meal plans and ensure she was fuelling her body with enough nutrients and energy. Within just a year, Bianca has lost 40kg and counting.

Bianca’s message for others

For Bianca, her weight loss success came about after she persevered through moments of low motivation. 

“My biggest lesson is don’t give up, anything is possible,” she says. “The biggest challenge was staying motivated.”

“My advice would be that everyone has ups and downs, and once you find a routine that works for you, you will be the happiest and healthiest version of yourself.”
