Detectives are still searching for a missing dog and luxury vehicle after they were allegedly stolen from a Melbourne suburb.

Moe the “beloved cavoodle” of a Brighton family was inside the black Mercedes when it was allegedly stolen at 7:45am on Wednesday morning.

The search continues despite two men, a 20-year-old from The Basin and a 25-year-old from Ashwood, being arrested over the incident.

Victoria Police say the two men were driving a white BMW which police believed to be “linked” to the stolen Mercedes and were involved in a collision on Dorothea Mackellar Ave in Oakleigh East at about 11:45am.

The pair ran from the scene and were arrested nearby on Macrina St.

Police have released images of Moe and the stolen car in the hope of finding them.

The Mercedes is described as a 2017 C250 Mercedes Station wagon with roof racks and registration VBG 946.

Moe is a two-year-old golden cavoodle.
