Bunnings Christmas range has shoppers rushing to stores

Bunnings is known for its extensive Christmas range, but there’s one item that’s already got shoppers rushing to the stores.

4 GENIUS Christmas hacks to get you through the silly season

Bunnings shoppers have wasted no time nabbing an $85 Christmas item after many missed out on the popular decoration last year.

While it may only be October, the hardware store has already dropped its massive Christmas range – and among it is the Solar Blow Mold Santa.

The decoration is of a very jolly Santa dressed with his iconic red and white suit – and no batteries are needed to light him up because he is solar-powered.

Many have since plastered images of the bright, energy-efficient, Santa decoration in a popular Bunnings Facebook group.

“I am super excited,” one shopper wrote, alongside a snap of her buy.

“I missed out on last year’s toy soldier. This year I wasn’t missing out.”

The customer said she was able to ‘click and collect’ the item from her local store.

“Finally got my Santa, now just need to find the reindeer,” another woman posted, while a third said she was able to nab her solar Santa last month.

“OK I know it’s early but our Bunnings has started to put stock out,” she wrote.

The popularity of the item comes as no surprise with the solar penguin also going viral on social and selling out almost immediately last year.

And there’s a bunch more solar Christmas items added to the huge 200-product range this year.

“For those planning on competing for the best Christmas display on their street, we’ve got some really fun additions to create a wow factor, including the biggest solar statues we have ever ranged,” Bunnings national outdoor lighting buyer Rebecca Hevey said.

“This year some of my predictions for top picks are an inflatable caravan Santa, a festive farm and a new take on the sellout favourite nutcracker soldier from last year, to name a few.”

Ms Hevey said with prices starting at under $20, the range has something for every budget, from those looking for an affordable addition with solar stake lights to Christmas fanatics going all out with giant inflatables, the biggest towering at 6m tall this year.

New research commissioned by Bunnings revealed 24 per cent of Aussies have already started their Christmas shopping this year and 75 per cent will be decorating their homes as much as they did last year.

It comes as no surprise considering the year that we’ve had, and Aussies are clearly feeling optimistic and looking forward to spreading some festive cheer.
