Gogglebox Australia: TV show favourite Yvie Jones’ new laidback life

As a former Gogglebox star Yvie Jones was not known to mince words, she’s since found a new project and a new way of looking at life.

As a former Gogglebox favourite Yvie Jones was not known to mince words, so you can just imagine what she has to say on the topic of remarkable women that history has overlooked. Shining a belated light on pioneering women of the past in the podcast Chickstory, Yvie has settled into a new media platform, and relishing the opportunity to finally give these women credit.

“Chickstory is just into its third season and we’re joined this year by some awesome guests. It’s going really well. I have some TV work lined up but can’t spill what it is.” When not juggling media commitments, Yvie can be found in her Melbourne townhouse with her beloved rescue pooches.

“I actually took it (the townhouse) unseen, which is very un-me. I was moving to Melbourne for work and asked around … the area was recommended as good with dogs.”

Yvie moved into the rental property two years ago, and says it’s a good fit for now, joking any home renovations are out of the question.

“I’m renting but what a great surprise it would be to pull a renovation on a landlord.”

Instead, Yvie has made the house a home with vibrant colours, comfortable furnishings, and above all, good vibes.

“I play music from the moment I wake up, my mornings are a ritual of music and coffee.”

This is such a standout piece of furniture and everyone who visits me comments on it. It’s such a great colour.

Plants

My place is colourful and plant-filled. I love all my plants, even the ones that challenge me, like my fiddle leaf. I think I’m finally getting her to like me.

Book shelves

I love the asymmetric design, everything I put on it looks great, funnily there’s not many books there. But, as you can see, lots of plants.

Taking time to relax

I keep my bedroom for just sleeping or meditating in, it’s a sacred place.

Egg chair

It’s so comfy and relaxing. Sitting in my egg chair in the sun, looking at my emails and what’s on for the day is how I start my morning.

This was gifted to me by talented artist Lauren Farnham – it’s of my two girls Sissy and Beverly.

I honestly would marry it if I could. It’s part of my morning ritual then my go-to throughout the day.

It’s of all the rescue dogs I’ve looked after over the years. Anyone with a safe home and a love for helping dogs can foster.
