A US doctor has revealed penis sizes are smaller than we’ve been told, despite what most men want people to believe. Here’s why.

A doctor has revealed why the average penis size is much shorter than you think.

While the average penis size in Australia sits at around 14 cm according to various studies, Dr Anthony Youn says the reality is these figures aren’t accurate.

The US plastic surgeon – who has amassed 7.3 million followers on TikTok sharing interesting medical facts – suggests measurements obtained through medical studies are likely “skewed”.

Using American stats, Dr Tony said: “Studies show that the average length of a man’s erect junk is 5.15 inches (13cm).

“But the real length is probably less than that because most men with small wieners probably wouldn’t consent to being involved in those studies.”

The clip had already clocked up over 460,000 views along with hundreds of comments, many from men who joked the information made them “feel better”.

However, others said the video had knocked their confidence because it meant they were likely no longer “above average”.

It’s not the first time it has been suggested information about penis size isn’t entirely accurate after a study showed men “almost always lie about how big their manhood really is”, The Sun reported in 2016.

Analysts compared data from two self-reporting surveys with largely different results, concluding results were likely wrong based on the possibility that men who volunteer to be examined may be more confident in their penis size than the general population.

Research has also shown that men often think the average penis size of their peers is larger than it truly is.

A paper published in the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy said most men think a penis is 6 inches (15.25 cm) when erect, on average. This is more than 1 cm larger than the average size in Australia.

But this belief is in part because studies that have measured penis length have relied on self-reporting, and participants may have lied or exaggerated a little.

In fact, most studies say average penis size length is between 5.1 inches (12.95 cm) and 5.5 inches (14 cm), “but after taking volunteer bias into account, it is probably toward the lower end of this range”, the paper said.

Size matters to Aussie women

While in the UK, studies show 85 per cent of women were satisfied with their partner’s penis size, in Australia that isn’t the case.

A scientific study conducted by a team of Australian National University researchers determined “penis size directly correlates with a man’s attractiveness to women”, according to a report by SMH.

Doctor confirms penis size rumour

Dr Anthony Youn recently confirmed the truth about an age old rumour you can tell a man’s penis size from the length of his nose.

He told his followers there is a significant correlation between the two measurements, citing a study, published in Basic and Clinical Andrology, that found those with larger noses have an average penile length of 5.3 inches (13.5 cm), whilst people with shorter noses will sit at around 4.1 inches (10.4 cm).

The study also concluded that penile length may not be determined by age, height or body weight – but actually before birth.
