If you’re one of those people who’s constantly canvassing their friends to check for upcoming trips to the US, London or Paris so they can bring back a haul of hard-to-come-by Glossier products, then believe us, this is the news you’ve been waiting for.
While Glossier announced they would start shipping their cult-favourite products to Australia last October, now, beauty fans will finally be able to get their hands on the products to test, swatch and sample before they buy.
That’s right people, you heard us. As of Tuesday 16 July, Glossier will officially launch in over 70 Mecca stores across Australia and New Zealand– and we, frankly, cannot wait.
So what’s the big deal about Glossier?
Since the brand launched in New York eight years ago, the beauty world has been rapt – but it didn’t actually start as a beauty brand.
Founder Emily Weiss started a blog called Into The Gloss in 2010, covering beauty news, writing product reviews, and curating lists of favourites, which quickly garnered a cult following.
If you’re brave enough to cast your mind back to 2010, you’ll remember in that day and age, blogs and ‘it’ girls ruled the world – and Into The Gloss had both in spades.
Four years later, Glossier was born, and its well-formulated products, chic packaging and attainable prices made it an instant favourite amongst, well, everyone.
Beloved for its ‘you but better’ approach to skincare and makeup, it was a brand doing something different – and for those in the know, originality was nothing more desirable.
Understandably, people all over the world have been clamouring to get their hands on it ever since. But the bad news, for those of us who don’t live in a cultural epicentre in the Northern Hemisphere, Glossier is not easy to get your hands on – and it doesn’t ship outside of America and Europe.
Until now.
In early 2023, Glossier finally agreed to be stocked in American Sephora, which gave people hope that sooner or later the brand might come to other parts of the world too.
And now, an Australian site – glossier.com/en-au – is alive and well. Until the beauty girlies inevitably crash the website (us, we are beauty girlies). You can finally buy your favourite beauty products from your very own couch, with your very own Australian-issued credit card, to be shipped to your very own address.
It is a blessed day.
What are Glossier’s best products?
So, if you can't wait 'til July, or just want to stock up before the crowds descend on your local Mecca, you ought to know which products are worth stocking up on.
The brand is best known for its eyebrow pomade Boy Brow, which has recently been reformulated, its liquid blush (they were pioneers in this space), Cloud Paint, and their sheer but buildable lip products Generation G and the glossy version, Ultralip.
Glossier’s flagship fragrance Glossier You is also a best-seller, and dare we say the perfect perfume for the summer months ahead.

Glossier Australia’s return policy and shipping costs
As per the US’s policy, there’s a 30-day returns policy on all Australian orders, and standard shipping is estimated at 4-6 business days – not bad for international. However, there is also a 1-3 day processing time before the shipping itself.
Shipping is free for orders over $110, and if you spend more than $210, you'll receive complimentary express shipping (approximately 4 business days).
