Woolworths forced to remove hundreds of items from shelves in one store

Staff at a Woolworths supermarket were forced to pull hundreds of items of stock from store shelves to the shock of customers.
An Adelaide store staff member shared the bizarre images to TikTok as trolleys were filled to the brim with meat, dairy products, vegetables and other fresh food items.
The employee said staff has been told to wipe the shelves clean of the products after a power outage swept through the state due to severe weather.
More than 160,000 homes and businesses were without power after a dangerous storm smashed the state with heavy winds, rain and hail.
About 300 power lines were knocked down, making it the worst power outage since the statewide blackout in 2016.
The Woolworths employee said it was a mammoth effort by staff to get all the perishable foods out of the store before customers were able to purchase the impacted products.
“What a hectic 24 hours it has been, but as a team we got there,” TikTok user @Hayz94 said.
“Aftermath of Adelaide’s storm, completely lost chilled, produce salads and frozen items.”
Meanwhile, in the Aberfoyle Park store in south Adelaide, a customer caught on film the moment water began gushing through the ceiling.
All Woolworths stores across South Australia have now returned to trading as usual, with customers able to shop in-store and online.
“Our teams are working hard to replenish the shelves as quickly as possible and we thank everyone for their patience following some wild weather,” a Woolworths spokesman said.
As of Monday evening, there were still 23,000 customers without power in Adelaide according to SA Power Networks.
