Excited customers are racing to their closest Woolworths to get their hands on a popular item that has finally returned 12 months after it first sold out.

Last Christmas, this $12 chocolate hazelnut pudding from Woolworths “Gold” range flew off the shelves.

Now it’s back for a second year in a row, with the Aussie retailer predicting the “standout” festive dessert will run out fast again.

“This season, we’re thrilled to bring back our Woolworths Gold Chocolate & Hazelnut Pudding,” a spokesperson for the supermarket told news.com.au.

“It’s a standout dish with a rich and chocolatey sponge pudding, filled with an irresistible choc hazelnut sauce and topped with crunchy roasted hazelnuts.

“It’s also made by a local NSW bakery Buonissimo, who source and produce delicious desserts made with finesse and the finest ingredients.

A twist on the traditional Christmas pudding, this product features a rich sponge and chocolate hazelnut sauce, with crunchy, roasted hazelnuts sprinkled on top.

Woolworths recommends to pair the treat with vanilla custard or vanilla bean ice-cream.

With eight servings, it costs $1.50 per head, making it an affordable option during the current cost of living crisis.

“We know many of our customers enjoy spreading their Christmas shop out over the months leading up to Christmas and tucking treats away in the pantry to enjoy closer to the festive season,” the spokesperson added.

“We look forward to rolling out our wider range of Christmas products in the months ahead.”

Woolworths has also wowed customers with the release of a brand new mango and passionfruit trifle.

The dessert features a jelly base made with sweet Australian mangoes, creamy custard and hand-rolled sponge rolls, filled generously with a mango and passionfruit fill.

Facebook users were elated at the announcement of the new trifle addition, with many stating that they would be rushing out to try it.

“Yum, that look delicious.” one said.

“I won’t make a trifle this year. I’m just going to buy the mango passionfruit one.”

“That looks so good, and such an easy dessert,” another wrote.

“My family will love it after Christmas lunch.”

The chocolate hazelnut pudding and the mango and passionfruit trifle are available at Woolworths now.
