Fairy Bread Ice-cream Bars

Fairy bread: it’s the ultimate kids’ party treat.

Although the original involves just soft white bread, butter and 100s and 1000s, over the years we’ve found ourselves inspired to take all the best bits of fairy bread and create colourful, delicious desserts.

Here are some of the best ones.

1: Fairy bread ice-cream bars

Fairy bread just got a summer makeover and it will be the stuff of dreams for both kids and adults alike. Made from only 5 ingredients, including the iconic Arnott’s Malt O’ Milk biscuits, they’re filled with supermarket rainbow ice-cream and covered in hundreds and thousands. The great thing about these bars is you can experiment with different ice-cream flavours on the inside and sprinkles on the outside if you’re making them for a themed party, such as Halloween or Christmas. Before you get started, just remember you’ll need to do this recipe in stages (it requires about 12 hours of freezing time in total), and make sure you have room in the freezer for a tray (a metal baking tray is ideal). If at any time the ice cream is getting too soft, return to the freezer.
