Perth customer finds passive aggressive note in Hungry Jack’s order

A Perth woman found more than she’d bargained for in her takeaway order from Hungry Jack’s – saying it’s “not a good look”.

Fast food fights: Why do they happen?

A Perth woman found more than she’d bargained for in her takeaway order from Hungry Jack’s over the weekend – sharing two passive aggressive notes had been put inside her bag.

Fran Lawrence posted a photo of the grease-stained notes – seemingly written by staff at the fast food giant’s Claremont store – to Twitter, writing: “Well this is not a good look @HungryJacksAU”.

“Appears your staff in Claremont don’t like getting big takeaway orders,” Lawrence added.

“This massive order was really inconvenient,” one of the notes read. “Go somewhere else next time. Love you so much xoxo.”

While the other questioned: “Hey x Why such a big order? Packed with love of course – HJ’s @ Claremont.”

Lawrence’s post was quickly noticed by Hungry Jack’s, whose official Twitter account responded: “We’re so sorry that you received this from our Claremont store.”

The account urged her to get in touch so that customer service “can look into this ASAP”.

Other customers chimed in under Lawrence’s tweet with similar experiences – and were divided over whether the notes were a bit of lighthearted fun or should result in more serious consequences.

“I get the similar dirty looks when ordering two bacon deluxe $7 meal deals from the app,” one person wrote.

While someone who claimed they had experience working in hospitality declared they hoped the workers “get fired”.

“I can say because I work in hospitality, workers should just deal with (the) order and get over themselves,” they added.

A third (somewhat dramatically) declared they’d think twice about eating the food.

“The way those notes are written in a passive aggressive manner, I would be concerned eating anything. ‘Packed with love of course’ (is) code for ‘threw it on the floor before bagging up’.”

Hungry Jack’s official Twitter account responded, apologising for the mishap and urging Lawrence to contact their team.

However, a fourth argued, “It’s refreshing to see kids have a real laugh instead of being glued to the keyboard.”

“Endearing and adorable, reminds me of the mischievous fun we used to get up to before phones and internet took over. Have a laugh, people. Come on!”

Hungry Jack’s confirmed it was looking into the incident.

“Hungry Jack’s has reached out to the customer following their inquiry regarding a note received with their order,” a spokesperson for the company said.

“Hungry Jack’s is investigating the incident and has apologised to the customer.”
