Run, don’t walk – McDonald’s is bringing back a fan favourite.

The fast-food giant has announced the popular McFeast burger is making a temporary return after customers inundated Macca’s with requests to bring it back.

For those who aren’t familiar, the McFeast is made up of a signature beef patty, tomato, lettuce, cheese, onions and pickles, topped with three sauces – mustard, ketchup and the signature McChicken sauce – held between a sesame seed bun.

Since it was removed from menus in June 2021, social media has been awash with eager burger lovers pleading for the fan favourite, which originally launched in the 90s, to come back.

“When is the McFeast coming back, it was my fave,” one fan asked, while another said “could you please bring back the McFeast asap? Thanks that will be all”.

Macca’s has “listened” to the cries of desperate Aussies, announcing the burger is returning for a limited time only from May 31.

“Combining high-quality ingredients with iconic flavour combinations, the McFeast is one of our tastiest burgers of all time.

“It’s not here for long, so head to your local Macca’s or the MyMacca’s app to avoid missing out.”

Macca’s is also bringing back the McFeast lunch deal.

Between 11.30am and 2.30pm daily, the burger, small fries and a small soft drink is available for $5.95.

The new cups, which contain fibre-based materials, are part of the burger chain’s ambitious pledge to phase out single-use plastic from its restaurants across Australia by 2025.

McDonald’s has already phased out plastic straws and cutlery, saving as much as 585 tonnes of waste every year.

It also recently redesigned the McFlurry cups to remove the plastic lids entirely as well as switching its salad bowls and shake cups to “innovative, fibre-based” alternatives which prevent even more waste ending up in landfill.
