Maxibon ice creams are set to shrink as the company tries to preserve profits during the cost of living crisis.

“It’s not news you’ll want to cop, but we had to let you know first. Tough times mean tough changes. And because of that, we’ve had to make the call to downsize our Maxibon a touch,” the company shared on Instagram.

“So, from this month, you’ll notice the changes, but our Maxibons will have the same taste you know and love.”

The caption accompanied a graphic that read: “MaxiCon, MaxiGone, MaxiFlation, MaxiLess, BonFlation, ShrinkBon. Yeah, we’ve got some news to share.

A single Maxibon ice cream currently comes in a 102g serving, with the new size of the ice cream not yet known to consumers.

Maxibon fans were quick to slam the decision by the company.

“I would gladly pay more for the same size bon rather than accept a smaller serving. Smaller sizes means I gotta eat two now just to fill the sides,” one said.

“Suddenly I don’t want to live anymore,” another commented.

Customers were torn on the decision, with some praising the brands transparency while others were upset they would get less ice cream.

One man requested the manufacturer reconsider its pricing in light of the change, quipping: “Gonna downsize the price a touch?”

The brand responded, conceding the RRP would not change.

“We know our Bon might be a touch smaller, but we aren’t skimping on the taste you love,” they wrote.

Others were just glad that the company would continue making ice creams during this period of high inflation.

“Size doesn’t matter anyways️,” one man said.

“Ahh no matter, it’s still a maxibon. Maybe make Minibons?”
