The 2023 Sydney Royal Easter Show will run from Thursday, April 6, until April 17, with many new food additions to the offering.

The Sydney Royal Easter Show is known for its plethora of weird and wonderful food but one new offering has left social media users less than impressed.

The Sydney Royal Easter Show runs between April 6 and April 17 this year, and, like every year, there are many new food items on offer.

But one particular item is causing a stir on social media - Neon Alley’s gummy-bear loaded fries, which are selling for $12.

Photos of the meal were shared to social media by Bruno Bouchet, who manages radio personality Kyle Sandilands, with Bouchet calling it “one of the best things I’ve put in my mouth”.

The dish features thick cut fries, melted gummy bears and sprinkles.

However, social media users have quickly taken aim at the dish, with one person labelling it “feral”.

“It’s f**king feral,” the social media user said of the dish.

Another added: “The cops banned rap music but not this.”

One social media user said: “OK, I love novelty food as much as the next girl. But nah, that’s gross.”

“I can understand, and even appreciate, the sweet/savoury combo, but this is so gross,” another said.

One person pointed out that many people would likely buy it to see just what it tasted like, before sharing images about it on social media.

It isn’t the only new addition to the Easter show’s food offering this year, with other new treats up for purchase.

Another sweet treat on offer is the World’s largest glow in the dark dairy floss, which is also available at Neon Alley.

The giant fairy floss has a price tag of $15.

For more savory options, there is the Blooming Onion by Burger Head, which is also available at the show for the first time ever.

It’s battered and fried in a southern style and has the option of being loaded up with cheese sauce and bacon bits.

It will also set showgoers back $15.

There is also a dish available called The Pizza Dobomb, which comes in a sweet or savoury option and has a price tag of $10.

The savoury option has pizza dough, Italian tomato sauce and a variety of topics, while the sweet version is coated in cinnamon sugar.
