STONE BAR & GRILL

240 High St, Melton

In the heart of Melton this is the place to go for a cheeky Sunday night dinner with the family. The menu is always changing with a great selection of antipasto, meats from the grill and pizzas. It’s a great place to go for young families and couples, and the staff are always friendly. I recommend the burrata with heirloom tomato, basil and balsamic vinegar or the Gippsland grass-fed porterhouse steak.

THE JOLLY MILLER CAFÉ

265 High St, Melton

This family orientated spot has become one of the places to go for a Sunday late breakfast or brunch with family and kids. The dish I always love is the ‘twisted benedict’, and for my babies, you can’t go past the fluffy ricotta hot cakes with fresh berries and maple syrup, mascarpone, chocolate soil, candied lemon and freeze-dried strawberries.

RUSSO ESTATE

760-818 Holden Rd, Diggers Rest

This winery and restaurant is a beautiful place not far from the centre of Melton. The classic Australian-inspired menu from chef Anthony Siketa, will not disappoint. They do great house made ricotta agnolotti and their grass-fed Tasmanian Cape Grim Beef is the feature of the menu and is perfectly paired with the Howdini cabernet sauvignon.

GALLI WINERY AND RESTAURANT

1507 Melton Hwy, Plumpton

Just 10 minutes from the centre of Melton, Galli Winery is a combination of love and expertise from Tuscan-born Lorenzo Galli who moved to Australia in 1951 with the dream to recreate what his family was doing in Italy for generations – wine! Next door to the amazing cellar there is a beautiful restaurant where you can enjoy classic pasta and antipasto while you enjoy the amazing view of the vineyard.

BABY BLACK ESPRESSO BAR

10 Church St, Bacchus Marsh

This little old cottage is the place to go for coffee, breakfast, and brunch if you are on this side of town. The coffees are amazing, and you must try their “always great” Breaky Bruschetta with thick cut sourdough toast, cherry tomato salsa, herbs, pesto, Meredith goat’s feta, crispy bacon and a poached egg on top.

WITCHMOUNT ESTATE

557 Leakes Rd, Bonnie Brook

Witchmount Estate is an amazing winery spread over 100 acres just 10 minutes’ drive from Melton. Producing a top range of wine this has been one of my favourites since I moved to Melton. The “Harvest” is the beautiful restaurant that accompanies this great vineyard. My go-to dishes are the tomato and parmesan arancini and bruschetta with fresh tomatoes. Also don’t skip the panna cotta for dessert.
