KINES

This cafe has, in my opinion, some of the best vegetarian toasties in Melbourne as well as really good coffee. The sauerkraut and cheddar is my go to with extra chilli. It’s a converted car mechanics full of mismatched furniture and you would swear you are the only person that knows about. Non-pretentious and no frills. My kind of place.

11 Hope St

VERY GOOD FALAFEL

No-fuss, simple, delicious produce-driven cooking.

I always get the falafel plate with a glass of fresh lemonade. It is crazy how generous the servings are. Perfect meal for summer.

629 Sydney Rd

BAR ROMANTICA

The lads at Romantica have nailed the whole package: super-tasty food, really solid booze offering and pool down the back. Pizzas are all on point, really nice light base, good blistering, delicious seasonal toppings. Good shout for a solid midweek meal or a bougie boozy night out.

52 Lygon St, Brunswick East

CULT OF THE VINE

Awesome selection of natural wine and less conventional beer and spirits. Sit in for a glass or takeaway. Brad often does cool events with interesting producers and local chefs, keep an eye out on their Insta.

7 Florence St

TETA MONA

A family run Lebanese restaurant, the servings are so generous and everything is always tasty. The spiced lamb snags are exceptional but make sure you don’t order extra bread, its so easy to fill up on carbs. Blackhearts & Sparrows is just down the road so it’s easy to grab something tasty to drink to go with your meal.

100A Lygon St, Brunswick East

Mona's getting prepped for yo'mother on Sunday. You didn't forget, did you? Share Banquet including dessert & BYO $49pp 🍲🍷🍺 Bookings on 93806680

OVENS STREET BAKERY

Open four days a week, this is a first-in, first-served kind of deal. Really delicious 24 hour fermented sourdough, amazing selection of pastries and other sweet treats. Pro move: breakfast and coffee at Kines on a Sunday then walk around the corner to get your sweet fix at Ovens Street.

19 Ovens St, Brunswick

Charley will be joined by his old mate George Tomlin (Clove Club, London) for a one-off collaboration dinner at Etta for the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival on March 23. Tickets and info: MFWF.com.au
