The Game of Thrones burger, available from Hoo Haa bar and restaurant, is sure to be a hit with the series finale airing on Monday.
“Being a GoT fan myself, the season has reached a point where it is dark and cold and the series is really focused on the struggle between Kings and Queens,’’ said Hoo Haa owner Paul Kasteel.
“Winter is coming in Melbourne and I think this influenced the idea. The original burger recipe came from a friend and previous chef who created a bone marrow and blue cheese burger.”
Tommy Ruff’s burger offering is arguably the most outlandish of them all and is priced at a whopping $140.
But it may be outdone by the alcoholic Borracho burger at Pablo Escoburgers.
“Being a pop-up burger bar inside a hidden gem of a custom cocktail bar, we have created what is possibly the tastiest and definitely the most alcoholic burger on the market,’’ said owner Vaughan Marks.
Chapel Street Precinct Association general manager Chrissie Maus said the challenge to create burgers did not disappoint.
“We want everyone to do a ‘burger crawl’ from one end of Chapel Street to the other,’’ she said.
“Chapel Precinct is going from strength to strength with 73 new retailers opening since September last year.”
Vote on the Chapel Street Precinct Association website and burgers can be tested at all Chapel Street venues.
Winners in all 15 categories will be announced on June 10.
