WORLD Chocolate Day is celebrated annually on Saturday July 7.
The day is sometimes referred to as International Chocolate Day and has been commercially celebrated since 2009.
It’s believed the day is to celebrate the introduction of chocolate to Europe in 1550.
White Chocolate Day is celebrated on September 22 and Milk Chocolate Day on July 28.
Here is how you can celebrate World Chocolate Day in Melbourne this Saturday.
FREE CADBURY AT STATE LIBRARY
Grab a free block of Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Chocolate on the steps of the State Library of Victoria this Saturday between 10am and 2pm. But make sure you share your block with your family and friends. Cadbury will also donate blocks of chocolate to Food bank and surprise a number of dedicated chocolate lovers on social media.
KOKO BLACK X LUNE
What’s better than a pairing of croissants and chocolate? A collaboration between specialty chocolate maker Koko Black and Fitzroy’s Lune Croissanterie has seen the creation of a Pistachio and Dark Chocolate Twice Baked Croissant. The item will be sold for $13 at Koko Black’s CBD, Doncaster, Carlton, Maribyrnong and Chadstone stores, and at Lune for two days. The first 20 customers to visit any Koko Black store on World Chocolate Day will also receive a free Belgian Hot Chocolate.
FATTO
Head chef James Kummrow will serve up his famous chocolate pizza to celebrate World Chocolate Day. The pizza will be topped with Nutella, strawberries and house-made marshmallows and a hint of basil. Looking for a grown up way to celebrate? Try a Cafe Bacci cocktail made with coffee liqueur, hot espresso topped with Frangelico cream and hazelnut chocolate. Available on World Chocolate Day from 12pm until late in the Fatto Bar.

Visit a Haigh’s Chocolates store and mention World Chocolate Day and receive a free 14g chocolate frog. If you spend more than $25 at Haigh’s Chocolates online on July 7, you will receive free shipping. Conditions apply.
BOMBA
Celebrate World Chocolate Day with a special dessert — chocolate and hazelnut cakes with olive oil ice cream. Only $12.
TOKYO TINA
Diners can enjoy a baked dark chocolate pudding with suntory miso, caramel and vanilla ice cream at Windsor’s Tokyo Tina.
GODIVA
To celebrate World Chocolate Day, Belgian chocolatier Godiva will be giving away 400 of its signature beverage — the Chocolixir — for free. Available in dark and milk chocolate.

Who doesn’t love free chocolate? Chocilo will be offering free tastings for customers at its North Ivanhoe store. Choose from honey roasted macadamia in milk chocolate, honey roasted macadamia in dark chocolate, glaced buderum ginger in milk chocolate, strawberries and cream in white chocolate, three variations of rocky road in milk and dark chocolate.
There will be free shipping for all online orders over $50 made on Saturday.

South Melbourne Market’s Atypic Chocolate will have samples of all its bean-to-bar chocolate — ranging from milk to dark. There will also be a chocolate making spectacle for marketgoers.
