Maybe you’re in the mood for brunch or a bagel. Or perhaps a Lebanese feast — we’ve got you covered there too.

Top chef Stephen Clark from San Telmo shares his list of the best places to eat and drink should you find yourself in Caulfield or the surrounding suburbs.

ALMAZETT

This place is an institution. Almazett has been around for years serving amazing Lebanese food. Their mezze platters are delicious and are really generous servings. It really is a feast. So many house-made dips, salads, grilled meats and can’t forget baklava for dessert.

GRANGER CAFE

A great cafe I like to drop into when I have a free morning. There’s lots of fresh brunch options and a coffee always hits the spot.

TUCKSHOP TAKEAWAY

Easily my favourite burger place in Melbourne. Quick and easy, just grab your food and go. My usual order is the Major (double patty with cheese) with their triple cooked chips. Plus it’s next door to Sundae School so all the food groups are covered!

SUNDAE SCHOOL ICE CREAMERY

The perfect spot after a trip to Tuck Shop. I always look forward to seeing what the team have on their board of flavours. It’s always changing and never fails to deliver. My favourites so far have been the licorice all sort (that actually has tiny bits of licorice all sorts in it), beetroot and dark chocolate and of course the BOM Jesus. Best coffee ice cream of all time.

BAGELICIOUS

Because bagels for lunch are always a good idea. I like to order the chicken salad bagel with extra pickles but it’s never bad to keep it simple with an everything bagel with cream cheese.

433 Glen Huntly Rd, Elsternwick

HANOI HANNAH

If it’s lunch time, I can’t go past Hanoi Hannah’s pork belly banh mi! If I’m heading in for dinner, then I usually get a mix of things, but always ending with a bowl of pho.

48H PIZZA E GNOCCHI BAR

The name says it all: pizza and gnocchi. It’s difficult to pick between the two, so my recommendation is to take someone with you and order everything to share. You won’t be disappointed!

FYI: Argentinian restaurant San Telmo serves South American food and wine daily from noon at 14 Meyers Place, City. santelmo.com.au
