Thai Ute
Traditional Thai fare, Thai fusion dishes and mouth-watering desserts. The food is honest and homely with a delicious twist. Think stir-fries, curries and noodle/rice dishes — I go for the jungle pork belly, crisp barramundi and I recommend trying their Kaffir lime panna cotta.
34 Railway Ave, Ringwood East
Ang Ang
Part of Eastland’s Town Square, Ang Ang has great ambience. The menu features authentic Malaysian hawker-style dishes and modern South-East Asian cuisine. The ayam goreng has the perfect house-made sambal belacan; other favourites are beef rendang, chicken gra pao and Siam fish.
Eastland Shopping Centre
The Firehouse Hotel Ringwood
What makes the Firehouse so attractive is the hospitality and sense of community that the Dungan brothers have created. Breakfast runs until 3pm. From the dinner menu I recommend the Gippsland lamb pie, or the rib eye with gnocchi. For dessert try the steamed banana and toffee pudding.
