A maths teacher on bail for abusing a 15-year-old boy “brazenly” pursued a second pupil, resulting in her having a baby girl.

A disgraced teacher has been spotted enjoying a final taste of freedom before she is sentenced for “sexual activity” with two teenage pupils – one of whom she had a “secret” baby with.

Rebecca Joynes, 30, is set to appear in a UK court to learn her fate on Thursday after being convicted of preying on two boys she met in her maths class at school.

The paedophile teacher was found guilty of six charges of engaging in sexual activity with a child, including two while being a person in a position of trust, in May, The Sun reports.

Her victims, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were 15 and 16 at the time – the latter of which is the father to Joynes’ young daughter, conceived while she was on bail for abusing the 15-year-old boy, local news outlet the Manchester Evening News reported.

‘No one had better find out’

During the two-week trial at Manchester Crown Court, jurors heard how she groomed the 15-year-old, referred to as Boy A, with a shopping trip after sending him “flirty Snapchat messages”.

CCTV footage showed them in a local shopping centre, revealing Joynes bought the teen a £345 ($655) Gucci belt at the luxury brand’s concession in Selfridges, Sky News reported.

Further footage showed them entering the former maths teacher’s apartment later that day.

Joynes told the boy, “No one had better find out”, the court heard. However, the boy’s mother noticed a love-bite on her son’s neck.

Boy A dismissed it as, “nothing”, however rumours began circulating at the school prompting him to tell his “distraught” mother he had spent the night with a teacher.

Pregnancy with second boy breached bail conditions

Police later stormed the school and arrested Joynes in October 2021, who was subsequently bailed on condition she have no unsupervised contact with anyone under 18.

But while on bail, she became pregnant by one of his classmates, whom she slept with around 30 times, MailOnline reported.

Boy B was 15 when she first kissed him, but the court heard she waited until he was 16 before engaging in sexual activity.

Their relationship was finally exposed after she confessed to the second teenager – to whom she wrote a love letter that declared “Every inch of you is perfect” – that she was pregnant with his child, the publication added.

Texts shared in court between Joynes and Boy A revealed the pair had unprotected sex, with the teen expressing fears his teacher could get pregnant, The Sun reported.

“I hope to God you don’t get pregnant,” he said in a message sent after visiting her home.

In another exchange, they joked about another pupil joining them before Boy A tells his teacher he should be “the only one”.

Joynes responded: “Obviously it’s only you.”

Boy A then said: “As it should be. Best student by far.”

Despite the ongoing police investigation, and her strict bail conditions, the court heard Joynes “brazenly” set her sights on the second pupil.

Boy B also expressed concerns over his teacher becoming pregnant after she took his virginity, but the court heard she told him it was “nearly impossible” for her to get pregnant because she had polycystic ovary syndrome.

‘Secret’ baby taken after emergency court hearing

Months later he went to her apartment for “date night” and was presented with pizza, scattered rose petals and a scratchcard of sexual activities.

Joynes then gave him a sleepsuit that said “I love my daddy to the moon and back”, The Sun added.

Boy B told the court he reacted by saying: “What the f**k?”

The boy also told jurors she tried to end the relationship after believing Joynes was “emotionally abusing” him.

He added that he’d spent 18 months of his life “with a paedophile”.

The baby girl was taken from Joynes following an emergency court hearing 24 hours after delivery and is now in the care of her teen dad.

The teacher, who clutched a baby bonnet every day in court, is allowed contact three times a week for three hours, the publication stated.

Jurors were not told that Joynes spent much of her pregnancy locked up in HMP Styal, just outside Manchester, according to a local media outlet.

Joynes now faces a lengthy jail sentence, according to Liverpool Echo. The maximum sentence for engaging in sexual activity with a child is 14 years in prison.

Ahead of her sentencing, the disgraced teacher was photographed at a retail park, wearing a baseball cap and a grey oversized tracksuit.

She was seen getting into a white car following a visit to several shops, which appeared to be full of belongings, The Sun reported.

Under UK laws, a woman cannot be convicted of rape. Britian’s legal definition of rape is “when a person intentionally penetrates another’s vagina, anus or mouth with a penis, without the other person’s consent,” a report from global public opinion and data company YouGov explains.

In 2020, the UK government rejected calls in a petition calling for the Sexual Offences Act to allow women to be charged with rape against males.
