Three reviewers travel 11,210 kilometres to eat 1,563 dishes to discover the 100 best restaurants in Victoria

In compiling the 2018 delicious. 100 — Victoria’s only ranked guide to the 100 most delicious restaurants — the Herald Sun’s food reviewers Dan Stock, Megan Miller and Simon Plant clocked up some serious miles on the road and on the treadmill to sort the good and the great into the most delicious in the state.

Across the six months it takes to compile the annual list they:

— Visited 196 venues

— Ate 1563 dishes

— Drank 294 litres of sparkling water

— Sipped 491 glasses of wine

— Spent $1650 in babysitting fees

— Used 11 pseudonyms when booking

— Nibbled 392 slices of sourdough smeared with 2.4kg of butter

— Ate 112 tartare dishes, 46 serves of kangaroo

— Had 93 food comas

— Were served by 588 waiters

— Drove 11,210 kms to eat meals and ran 1040kms to work them off

— Waited three months for the longest booking

and ..

sat in the same seat for more than five hours to consume the longest meal.
