BIG W launches affordable style range for every woman

BIG W is upping the ante in affordable fashion, releasing a new collection of on-trend pieces — and all for less than $40.

Big W is upping the ante in budget fashion releasing a new collection of on-trend pieces, all priced under $40.

Celebrity stylist Donny Galella said the new collection gave people the chance to “dabble with the seasonal trends without spending a fortune”.

“For example this season’s leather dresses are a vibe,” he said.

“Why spend hundreds when you can get the leather look in vegan friendly leather.”

The new range features a mix of neutral colours and discreet tones, including camel, olive, grape and marigold, with hero prints like paisley, dots and animal; giving the outfits a wanderlust, boho feel.

Claire Harahap, Senior Designer at BIG W, said volume peasant blouses and tiering are key across the collection, while outerwear standouts include the cosy teddy trucker jacket and metallic puffers.

Fabrics such as cable knitwear feature heavily and pair perfectly with denim or tiered skirts for a winter fashion look. Faux leather items add luxe to the collection, providing a nod to 70s chic.

“The global nomadic look has been trending in the fashion capitals and high streets across the world and is reflective of the times we are in, with more people working, entertaining and holidaying at home,” Ms Harahap said.

“We’ve taken inspiration from these catwalks and translated for our BIG W customer, bringing a relaxed approach to dressing that features beautiful, on trend 70s inspired boho prints and fabrics and detailing.”

DONNY’S TOP 5 TIPS

Voluminous sleeves are a huge trend. Always think about balance for example, if you wear a blouse with big sleeves, maybe wear something more fitted on your lower half to help balance out the volume.

Parkas are definitely trending. The black parka with gold hardware, gold zippers, gold details and a faux fur trimmed hood is a must have. I especially love it has a belt with gold details so it will still cinch you in and give you a flattering silhouette. A

Boho chic is trending and one of my favourite prints is a yellow print against a black background. The must have paisley dress has a voluminous sleeve and elasticated bodice, so it’ll fit perfectly. It also comes in a maxi skirt.

Statement coats are a must this season, I love the teddy bear coat. I would style it with leather look leggings, also a must have item for every autumn winter.

The khaki boiler suit is one of my favourite items this season. The fabric is stretchy and comfy, so it’s easy to wear. I love that it has a nice long stretchy belt that you can cinch in to give you a flattering silhouette. It also has an elasticised waistline so it will give you great shape. This could be worn with white joggers or glam it up with a black ankle boot and wear it out at night. Such a versatile item. A great price point too!! So you can experiment with this trend without spending a fortune
