Why we love it: few resorts in the state can match it for facilities.
What to consider: you will probably want to book an extra night to experience it all.

- A choice of hotel rooms and apartments that range from one to three bedrooms
- Two restaurants.
What to know: be sure to check out the specials such two nights for two adults and two children with breakfast, a pair of pizzas and a family aquarium pass for $599.
Club Wyndham Coffs Harbour
Top notch facilities that don’t require a second mortgage.
Why we love it: the location is superb with Charlesworth Bay Beach a stroll away.
What to consider: there is only one choice for dining, the Bayside Bar & Grill.

What to know: Club Wyndham is part of the Pacific Bay Resort Precinct.
Pacific Towers Beach Resort
A four star rating and views for days.
Why we love it: low-key style, chilled environs and absolute beachfront.
What to consider: this is more akin to apartment living than a hotel.
What features does Pacific Towers Beach Resort have?
- A tennis court
- 61 self contained apartments
- A 20-metre heated pool
What to know: this is a solid option if you want to splash out on views but save on meals by doing your own cooking.
The Pier Hotel
A cheap, cheerful and cool pub stay.
Why we love it: because the rooms are treated as destinations in themselves rather than an afterthought.
What to consider: it is above a pub after all - which is heaven for some and a tad noisy for others.
What features does the Pier Hotel have:
- A choice of queen, single and twin-share rooms.
- An excellent location on the Jetty Strip with restaurants, cafes and shops just a stroll away.
- An excellent bistro knocking out pub classics at reasonable prices.
What to know: there is no vehicle parking on site for guests but plenty in the vicinity.
Ibis Budget
Savings, savings, savings.
Why we love it: although it’s basic, it’s clean, efficient and easy.
What to consider: if you’re looking for high-end or luxe, this is not the place.

What to know: you can score a perfectly fine standard queen room here for under $100.
Quality Hotel City Centre
Great value and a step up from your average motel accomm.
Why we love it: there’s nothing quite like the hospitality at a family-owned hotel and the Doughertys have been exemplifying this for almost 30 years.
What to consider: it’s a short drive to the beach but the CBD is just 300 metres away.
What features does the Quality Hotel City Centre have:
- 73 rooms across hotel, executive, studio and apartment styles.
- Pool, gym and cabanas for guests.
- Dining room open for breakfast daily.

Big 4 can always be relied up on to do the big things and little touches superbly.
Why we love it: an enormous pool with slides and a tipping bucket, 18 hole mini golf course, pedal karts, jumping pillow, a pair of playgrounds and a basketball court.
What to consider: this is very much a family-centric property.
What features does Big4 Park Beach Holiday Park have?
- A range of accomm across villas and cabins that sleep up to eight.
- Powered slabs and sites for caravans and free wifi.
- A self-contained mini suburb for the kids to roam.
What to know: book for seven nights and the seventh night is heavily discounted.
