Punters at home have taken the Myer Fashions on Your Front Lawn competition to a new level with an array of fabulous, fun and flamboyant creations.
Entrants have taken inspiration from everyday household items, included family pets and gathered the family in matching outfits in an eclectic interpretation of Melbourne Cup Day fashion.
Victorians have been encouraged to bring the style and celebrations of Cup Week home this week, with a series of “Just for Fun” categories announced for the at-home version of Fashions on the Field.

The family-friendly “just for fun” categories are a new addition to the high fashion, millinery and emerging designer contests.
And as celebrities made a splash at Cup Day events, Australians brought their A-game to their own home-based celebrations.
Homemade millinery has been a standout, with one colourful entry featuring “toothpaste and orange juice Shapes”, toothpaste boxes, plastic juicers, mandarins and tassels with the tagline: “If 2020 was a flavour.”
Several young hopefuls created their own headpieces, one with a resplendent rainbow and another with a golden horse under the famous Flemington arch.
Flamboyant friends entered with larger than life love heart cut out hats, topped off with fluoro feathers and flowers.
While some families included their furry friends in their entries as the whole family dressed for the occasion.
The traditional Myer Fashions on the Field competition is injecting a sense of fun and frivolity with the inclusion of the quirky new categories this year.
The new categories, including Cup Week Costumes, Family Ties, Lounge in Style and Mad Hatters, are set to ensure everyone can get into the Melbourne Cup Carnival spirit at home.
The Just for Fun entries are open until 11.59pm on Oaks Day, Thursday, November 5. Winners will be announced at Stakes Day on Saturday, November 7.
