Awkward X-rated joke leaves Robert Irwin red-faced

Julia Morris was forced to apologise to her I'm A Celeb co-host after making the awkward comment. 

Note to any celebrity working alongside him - don't ever make an X-rated joke in front of Robert Irwin. Things will get real awkward REAL quick.

This is something the Wildlife Warrior's I'm A Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here!co-host, Julia Morris, has discovered during multiple interviews and live recordings to promote the Aussie TV show.  

A recent chat went a little too far, forcing the comedienne to apologise to her younger reality TV sidekick.

Did she really just say that? 

In a chat with Yahoo Lifestyle, the two hosts were quizzed on how well they know each other. 

One of the questions posed to Robert was to name one item Julia always travels with. 

“It’s this little phone leash, so you can put your phone and sling it over your shoulder and carry it and you travel with that everywhere and I love it,” he said, pointing to his co-host's cross-body phone strap.

The answer was correct and the question was innocent - until Julia took it to the next level, revealing that she calls the must-have item something else. 

“So I’m with someone grown up the other day, grown-up like properly grown up, and I said, ‘Just a second, I’ve got to get my strap on’,” she shared.

Robert was left red-faced

Unsure how he should react, innocent Robert was left red-faced by Julia's awkward share. The new co-host burst out with laughter before covering his red face completely embarrassed. 

It didn't take long for Julia to realise she had taken things a little too far - she's definitely not standing alongside Dr Chris Brown anymore!

“Sorry Robert,” she apologised. “I can see HR at three o’clock?”

It has happened before

This is not the first time Robert has been left speechless over an X-rated comment. 

Back in July 2023, Robert admitted he felt 'flustered' during a seemingly harmless interview with comedian Russel Howard.

It was meant to be a serious chat about the biggest threat to koalas, but it was quickly derailed after Howard made a cheeky X-rated remark about the threat of sexually transmitted disease, Chlamydia.

In the clip, Irwin explains to Howard, “Unfortunately, the biggest threat to koalas now is Chlamydia.”

Howard chimes in saying, “Luckily, I’m wearing a condom.”

“Don’t worry about it,” he adds, looking down at the koala he’s holding in his arms.

He continues, “I bagged up before the shot. Do you know what I mean? I thought it’s safer for you, it’s safer for the koala.”

Robert looks completely caught off guard by the joke and covers his face while blushing.

“I wasn’t ready for that,” he laughs. “Well, that’s good… moving on... I’m flustered now."
