You’d be lying if you said you’d never had a bit of a dodgy experience with someone who was supposed to be delivering you a package.
Any time I order something, I dread receiving a ‘sorry, we missed you!’ note - even worse if I’m at home when I get it.
One Aussie has come up with what might be the perfect solution.

“I’m home!”
A Perth Redditor has taken to the platform to share their solution for posties driving off without leaving their package.
Pictured is a note, stuck to the front door.
“Dear Postie,” the note begins, with a smiley face.
“I’m home! Please ring doorbell, thank you!”
The poster said they were optimistic that their efforts would pay off.
“I hope this works! (aka ‘I don’t want to go to the post office, mate’),” they wrote.

“I will try your method!”
Some commenters on the post thought the idea was genius, with others sharing their own similar strategies.
“I think I will try your method,” said one commenter.
“I always leave the front door open with flywire closed, it's the only thing I've found that actually works,” another suggested.
“This is why I'm glad I have a Ring Doorbell. Besides being able to set up parcel detection notifications, it means you have undeniable proof when AusPost delivers without ringing, in contravention of their SOPs. Also means any complaints you make are actually actioned through feedback to the driver because you can provide proof to the company on request,” another person suggested.
“Since when do posties even get out of their van?”
However, many weren’t so positive, saying they didn’t think it would make a difference.
“I don’t think he’ll be able to read it from the car parked out on the street as he writes the slip but good luck,” one person said.
“I was home yesterday, postie rang the buzzer. I BOLTED to the door. He was already gone. Now I have to go to the post office,” another shared.
“Since when do posties even get out of their van?” said another.
“Considering I’ve been physically handed a ‘sorry we missed you’ card, I don’t like your chances,” another person said - though the poster confirmed, they got their package.
