Forget the fascinator — newly minted Spring Racing Carnival fashion reporter Anna Heinrich expects headscarves and clips to be the real head-turners at the track this season.
Heinrich, who has joined Channel 10’s broadcast team, believes this year’s racegoers will be keen to keep abreast of fashion by modernising the traditional racing headwear.
“You’re going to see a lot of people branching out from the norm of fascinators and big headwear and will see more scarfs and clips,” says Heinrich, who features on the cover of The House of Wellness spring magazine, out this weekend.

But while Heinrich — a lawyer who is married to former The Bachelor star Tim Robards — loves to see fashion experimentation during the spring carnival, she insists some rules are not meant to be broken.
“There is nothing worse than seeing someone wearing a brightly coloured outfit on Derby Day (traditionally black and white),” she says.
“You stand out for all the wrong reasons.”
