Abbie Chatfield admits Australia Day mistake

Abbie Chatfield has sent fans into a frenzy with a topless photo preaching body positivity while urging Instagram to ‘free the nipple’.

The reality TV star, who had a stint on The Bachelor and then Bachelor in Paradise, was crowned winner of I’m a Celebrity Australia for 2021.

In a recent interview with RAQ Apparel, a swimwear brand she collaborates with, the feminist and influencer said she has “always had a pretty good relationship” with her body.

In her latest post, Chatfield offered seven reasons women should feel comfortable being topless at the beach:

1. Swimming with free titties is the best feeling in the world.

2. No sand in bikini top

3. Paparazzi can’t sell photos of a “wardrobe malfunction”

4. It’s hot

5. It’s freeing

6. You can hear people having conversations about it as you walk past them, we love a conversation starter!

7. Nipples do NOT need to be sexualised.

Can Instagram pls allow nipples I’m sick of this,” she finished her post.

“Totally agree! Love this post! Free the nipple instagram! Stop sexualising women nipples,” influencer Jay Rose Lal commented.

“Queen,” wrote former Big Brother star Tully Smyth while reality star Phoebe Thompson agreed, writing: “Yes please”.

Chatfield has previously admitted there was a time when she would edit her photos.

During a segment on her new radio show Hot Nights With Abbie on Friday, Abbie revealed how she would often Photoshop her images before posting them to Instagram prior to becoming famous.

While Abbie only had around 1000 followers and wasn’t yet working as an influencer, the response she received on the edited photos was “messing with my head”.

“My edited photos would get like double the likes,” she said. “So I’d feel like the way that I saw myself (was that) I was only good looking with edited photos.”

Abbie quit editing her photos in 2018 prior to appearing on reality TV saying she had “stopped for myself, it wasn’t any political stance”.

She also called on celebrities like the Kardashians to stop photoshopping, with Kim recently forced to delete an Instagram post of her in a bikini after a very obvious editing fail was spotted by fans.

“When these things happen it’s, ‘haha funny’, but can we like stop editing our photos?” Abbie said.
